Excellent Builders Group is a design and build general contractor based in Encino, California. We build custom homes and major remodels across Greater Los Angeles, and we put our license number on everything we do.
Who We Are
Builders first.
The name is a promise we have to keep every day, on every site. We chose it on purpose.
Our clients usually come to us with a hillside lot, a folder of inspiration photos, and one worry: that building a custom home means years of chaos. Our job is to remove that worry. We do it with real drawings, real schedules, engineering that passes review the first time, and a site that is supervised every single day. When you call, you talk to the builder running your project, not an answering service.
Most of our work comes from referrals and from neighbors who watched us build next door. We think that is the best marketing a contractor can have.

Things clients ask us first.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. We hold California Contractors State License #1126591 and we are bonded and fully insured. We encourage you to verify this on the CSLB website before hiring us, or anyone else.
Do you handle the permits?
Yes, all of them. Design and build means the drawings, the engineering, the plan check and the inspections are our job, not yours. You get updates, not homework.
Do you only build new homes?
No. Roughly half of our work is major remodels and additions, including second stories and structural work. The standard is the same either way.
How long does a custom home take?
It depends on the lot, the design and the city. What we promise is a real schedule in the contract before we start, and weekly updates against it while we build.
How do I get a price?
Call us and we will walk the lot together. You will get an honest range early, and a detailed line item budget once there are drawings to price from. No games with allowances.
Who will I actually be talking to?
The builder running your project. Not a call center, not a rotating account manager. One person who knows your site, your schedule and your budget.
